It's a..........WHAT?!

I had my 16 week appointment on Friday the 12th, which also happened to be Bradley's birthday! Knowing that I was far enough along for them to do the gender I told Bradley he should take off and go with me! :) We all four loaded up that morning and headed to the doctor's office. We were so nervous and excited about finding out! We were hoping the baby would cooperate and play along!

I felt like we were all mentally preparing for this exciting news all week. We made plans to have dinner with my family that evening to share and then were headed to Bradley's parents for the weekend after that. Bradley felt so positive that it would be a boy. I don't think I ever quite let myself go there. :) I felt very certain that I would have a house of girls. I didn't really have a feeling one way or another, but I was definitely hoping it was a girl. That was just safe and easy to me. Addy felt the same I think. She was very sure she was going to have another little sister.

Sure enough one of the first things the sonogram tech looked for was the gender! I really did think that I was prepared to hear the news, whether pink or blue. But when she said that we had a little BOY on the way, I felt absolutely shocked. I just kept laughing and shaking my head. I literally had no words...that never happens! ;)

As per tradition, after the appointment we went to Target to pick out one outfit for the new baby. (FOX jammies, of course!!) It was quite surreal and I kept ending up back in the girls section. I am totally going to have to reprogram my brain to expand my search at stores! :) We ran home and had to take some fun reveal photos to share with the world. I can't even tell you how weird it feels to be thinking blue.

It was such a blast to tell our families and have them celebrate with us a little this weekend! Although I still feel like it hasn't really sunk in, I am very excited to meet this little boy! I feel like God is really pushing me to limits that force me to rely on his will throughout this pregnancy. It will continue to be an adventure and I am thankful for all the people that have prayed alongside me this go round!!
Thank you all so much for all the congratulations and excitement as we share our journey with you! I can't believe this pregnancy is nearly half way over already!!

  1. Oh my goodness - congratulations! I would be the same way - we live in a house full of girls & wouldn't know what to do with a boy :)
